Library
Reading is one of the most valuable skills a child can develop, and what better place to explore the world of books than our school’s library?
Libraries are treasure troves filled with exciting stories, fascinating facts, and endless opportunities for learning.
Encouraging children to borrow books from our school library each week not only strengthens their reading skills, but also sparks creativity and imagination. Whether it’s an adventure in a faraway land, a mystery to solve, or an exciting science discovery, every book opens a new door of possibilities!
Regular reading also helps improve vocabulary, comprehension, and concentration, which can contribute to setting up students for success across different learning areas.
Plus, visiting the library is a great way to develop responsibility by taking care of borrowed books and returning them on time. If your child doesn’t have a waterproof library bag, these can be purchased from the school’s Uniform Shop. Also, check with your child or their Class Teacher if you’re not sure which day of the week your child visits the library with their class for borrowing.
We encourage Ascot students to make the most of their library visits, pick books that interest them, and discover the joy of reading. Currently, we are in the process of asking students to let us know their suggestions or ‘wish-list’ items for our library when they make their weekly class visits.
Let’s work together to build a lifelong love for books and learning!
Happy reading!
