The Ascot School Council held its first meeting for 2025 on the 24th Feb.  The Council is an elected group of parent, staff and community members and its purpose is to guide the strategic direction of the school to ensure the best learning outcomes for our students.

At the February meeting we welcomed the new Principal, Ms Cox, and a new parent representative, Balaji Suguna.  The Council reviewed and endorsed the 2025 Annual Improvement Plan, which focuses on implementation and achievement in the new Australian Curriculum for English and Maths.  We also reviewed enrolment and staffing trends, the school budget, and discussed the strategic planning coming up in 2025.

In 2025 there will be a School Review by the Department of Education, and we will be developing Ascot's next 4-year strategic plan.  We want to also capture the views of the broader parent and school community to feed into this process - keep an eye out for a survey coming in Term 2!
